VDA-QMC has published much awaited Automotive SPICE Guideline book (referred as Blue-Gold Book due to main page colour). IQI Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. VDA has published Automotive SPICE v3.0 guideline (draft version) in February 2017 for community review & suggestion. The final version "Blue-Gold" book will be available in September 2017.  This provides detailed guidance on following topics: Part 1: Interpretation and rating guideline This section is very detailed & covers rating guideline for Base Practice (BP) of 16 processes (VDA scope - Old HIS Scope), relationship between rating of BPs, rating guideline for Capability Level 2, Capability Level 3. Part 2: Guideline for performing the assessment This section provide details on "assessment process" and is similar to the older version of assessment process published in 2008. It also provides concept of improvement process & requirements relating to assessor qualification. Official usage of Automotive SPICE v3.0 to conduct assessment will start after upgrade training to Principal & competent assessors.

Both processes leads to changing project work products which are already baselined. To update the baselined work products, change (control) management (part of Configuration Management Process) is called. However, before calling change management process, the analysis of defects / change request shall be completed. The concept of their implementation is shown below: Automotive SPICE defines two processe s; SUP.9 Problem Resolution Management (PRM) & SUP.10 Change Request Management (CRM) Process. My this article is intended to Assessor community & NOT to Process Improvement practitioners. Rating Rule: Existing rule: ISO/IEC 15504 Part 2 requires to rate Process Attribute (PA). In Practice: In most of the  assessments, BPs & sometimes GPs are also rated. These ratings have been used to derive Process Attribute rating.
